Valley Storage Owners Donate to Local Sheriff’s Department
How often can you say that your efforts going to the dogs is a good thing?
Todd and Tina Snook, owners of Valley Storage, are doing just that and helping their local community in the process.

This past week, the couple donated $15,000 to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department in Martinsburg, West Virginia, to purchase and train a K-9 drug officer and its handler. Working with Sheriff Nathan Harmon, they are bringing more resources to the Uniform Patrol Division, which includes the Patrol Division, K-9 Unit, and DUI Enforcement.
“Valley Storage is a proud to support the communities in which we serve,” Tina Snook said. “We are grateful for the opportunity to help the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department add another resource for law enforcement.”
Cpl. Corey Welcome takes on the role as handler for 16-month-old Mates, a German Shepherd from Poland. The duo is one of two teams that graduated the training program Sept. 9.
The K-9 Unit of Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department supports the department in explosives detection, narcotic interdiction, patrol, and search/apprehension operations. The unit recorded 5,000 responses in 2018 for back-up, K-9 officer demos, and narcotics detection, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.
