Tenant Spotlight: Brad Harden

Customer Spotlight: Brad Harden at Valley Storage in Martinsburg, West Virginia

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your musical journey? How did you get started, and what inspires you as a musician?

I grew up in the small town of Hancock, MD. I spent the majority of my childhood playing sports and doing the normal kid stuff. Around 2009, I was living with some friends, one of which was a guitar player.

After telling me he’d teach me how to play if I got myself a guitar, I spent the next few months learning the basics and teaching myself with the guidance of my friend.

Since then, I’ve played in a few bands on small and large stages around the mid Atlantic and northeast.

What type of music do you create, and do you perform solo or with a band? Are there any particular artists or genres that have influenced your style?

It’s hard to nail down a genre for me. The way I explain it is if the Goo Goo Dolls were a pop punk band. I grew up when music was in a weird Flux between the grunge of the 90s an the higher energy rock of the early 2000s. So it’s made for a nice twist of both styles.

As far as my writing, I use my personal experience and views to create music I can be proud of, and I hope the listener can relate to, or at least make them feel something. Whether it’s me with just an acoustic or with a full band behind me, I just want to put my heart and soul into every note.

How does Valley Storage meet your needs as a musician? What do you use your storage unit for?

I use Valley Storage to store my studio equipment when it’s not in use, as well as furniture and other things that I may need in the future. With as much traveling and exploring I’m doing, it’s a safe place to keep my things until I find where to plant my roots so to speak.

The security offered by Valley Storage keeps my mind at ease while also keeping my equipment safe from the elements.

What specific features or amenities of Valley Storage attracted you to choose it for storing your musical equipment?

The security that Valley Storage offers was the biggest draw. I’m fully aware that my possessions are safe 24/7 365 days a year, while also being easily accessed.

Have there been any instances where having a reliable storage space has been particularly beneficial to you?

With how often I use some of my equipment, it’s a nice slot to move things in and out. For instance, I am not a drummer, but I have a drum set for recording and when I practice with my a band. It’s super beneficial to have a place to store these things when they aren’t in use.

Are there any upcoming projects, performances, or milestones in your musical career that you’d like to share with our readers?

I’m currently working on my first professionally produced EP that should be released end of summer/fall of 2023 titled “things we hold dear…”

This EP is a mix of the struggles of life as well as celebrating the beautiful things we sometimes take for granted.

I am also getting a full time band together for the first time in seven years. We haven’t settled on a name yet, but I’ll make sure to keep the updates on my music pages on all social media.

Where can our readers listen to your music and follow your musical journey?

My “Brad Harden Music” page on Facebook is the place I share the most updates. I have musical releases on all streaming platforms including YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat.
