How to Support Your Neighbors This Holiday Season

The Salvation Army is known for being there when the community needs it most. This year has been hard on a lot of families, and more people will be relying on The Salvation Army’s holiday assistance programs. Your help is needed more than ever so that we can assure these programs’ resources are able to serve everyone who needs it. Valley Storage has partnered with The Salvation Army to accept donations at all our storage facility office locations.

Holiday Programs that Help the Community

The Salvation Army expects up to 155% more people using its assistance programs this year. Those programs include delivering groceries, collecting and distributing food boxes, and serving Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. In addition to meals, The Salvation Army also helps families pay monthly expenses like rent and utilities. When the pandemic effects were starting to get bad in March, about 12 million families missed their rent or mortgage payments. Bill-pay assistance helps families enter into the new year on a better foot. And when it does not look like this will be a year Santa is able to bring presents, kids are able to enter into the Angel Tree program. Anonymous volunteers donate so the kids can open a gift on Christmas.
