Valley Storage on All Star Court, Cole Road, and Washington Street all teamed up to help Children in Need in Washington County and St. Mark’s Food Drive.

St. Mark’s Community Food Bank is an outreach ministry that helps families in need. Especially this time of year they need non-perishable items to help make a feast for families who can not spend the money to provide one for themselves. This meal warms those who are facing homelessness and times of financial troubles. With the help of volunteers and donations like this, they had a successful Thanksgiving meal. We are proud to be part of this wonderful organization and could not have done it with out your help! Thank you to everyone who donated.

Even though the food drive is over these locations are still accepting coats and warm clothing for Children in Need in Washington County. This non-profit organization was founded in 1998 with the mindset of giving kids at or below the federally recognized poverty limit the supplies they need. Today they still help kids of low income families get the school supplies, clothing and meals within the Washington County public school system. Warm clothing is needed most of all this time of year. We are also accepting toys on their behalf, so these families have a little Christmas magic.

 

 

Holiday initiative

Valley Storage on Leitersburg Pike in Hagerstown MD teamed up with Toys for Tots. This organization is familiar to many because of the United Starts Marine Corps Reserve. Since 1947 the USMCR works hard to improve many situations for children during the holidays. With a simple gesture as toys, kids are giving unconditional kindness. The ultimate goal is to give young people a role model and message of being a responsible, productive, and patriotic citizen.

Once the holidays are over, Toys for Tots works to provide books for underprivileged students. Schools with little to no library are provided with material that will inspire creativity and a thirst for knowledge in their students. This is just one of the ways Toys for Tots has expanded their foundation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Holidays in Hagerstown MD

 

Along with helping the Children in Need organization, Valley Storage on Robinwood Drive teamed up with Operation Warm. This foundation donates coats directly from manufacturers to kids who need warm clothing for the winter. This program began after a gentleman, by the name of Dick Sanford, noticed children huddled together at the bus stop with no coats in the dead of winter. He immediately went to the nearby department store and purchased all kids coats in stock. His generosity started a community wide program and has continued to impact lives.
