The Washington County Historical Society is having a “Star-Spangled War of 1812 Exhibit.” This exhibit is marking the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. Artifacts over 200 years old will be on display. Check it out during normal museum hours. Calling all Moms and Tots, have some “Creative Drama with Your Mama: The Gingerbread Man Wed., Nov.7th. The Capitol Theatre Center is presenting a Mommy and Me Art and Theatre Class. Enjoy making your own puppets and bringing them to life! 10-11 a.m. Capitol Theatre Center, Chambersburg, PA.

It’s Christmas Thyme at Sycamore Heights Farmhouse Craft Show! Thursday, Nov.8th through Sunday, Nov.11th 11/11/2012 check out local crafts, candles, primitives, folk art, décor and more will be for sale. Nibble on food provided by the Chewsville Lions Club. Santa Claus is coming to town. Or more specifically the Mall. Santa will be arriving at the Valley mall Nov.10th. See Santa arriving via a holiday train. All kids will receive a free holiday gift! Get your picture taken with the jolly old elf himself.

Even family pets are invited to pose for a photo with Santa, alone or with the family, on Monday evenings starting at 6 p.m. from Nov. 12 to Dec. 17! 9:45 a.m. Center Court of the Valley Mall, Hagerstown.

Otterbein United Methodist Church is hosting a Dickens’ Fair, Saturday, Nov.10th. Get handmade wreaths, holiday decorations, food, beverages and more in a Victorian setting. 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Otterbein United Methodist Church, corner of Franklin and Locust streets, Hagerstown, MD.

Sunday, Nov.11th, the Williamsport American Legion Post 202, Williamsport, MD will be having a Veteran’s Day Ceremony. Stay tuned for more details!

Hagerstown Aglow Lighthouse invites you Monday, Nov.12th to participate in a Community Shopping Night at Ten Thousand Villages in Hagerstown, MD. On Nov. 12, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m., Ten Thousand Villages will donate 15 percent of all sales to Hagerstown Aglow. The funds raised will enable us to help with a future community outreach event at the San Mar Children’s Home. 5-8 p.m. Ten Thousand Villages in Hagerstown, 13625 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Hagerstown Community College, in partnership with Food Resources, Inc., will hold its 12th Annual Turkey Trot Nov.22nd. Take part in a 5K run/walk for adults, the “Mashed Potato Race” for children between the ages of three and 10, and a food drive. Please bring two or more canned or nonperishable goods to be donated to the Community Food Bank Warehouse and be entered to win some great prizes! There’s something about trains at Christmas. Bring the kiddos for to see steam and diesel locomotives by Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver and more.
